Lake Baikal - The Pearl of Siberia

Lake Baikal is a rift lake in south-east Siberia. It is the largest lake in the world. The lake has the typical long crescent shape with a surface area of 31,722 square kilometers. It curves for nearly 400 miles through south-eastern Siberia. Lake Baikal contains 20% of the world's total freshwater reserve. It is large enough to supply the world with fresh water for half a century. It is one of the clearest lakes in the world.





Lake Baikal is the world's deepest lake. It is more than 5,000 feet deep at its most profound. The average depth of the lake is 2,442 feet. It is also the oldest lake in the world. Geologists estimate that Lake Baikal formed about 25 million years ago.





Lake Baikal's beauty is exceptional, and so is the beauty of the area surrounding it. Surrounded by mile-high snowcapped mountains, Lake Baikal is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It offers vistas of unmatched natural beauty to the visitors.

Meteora - A Unique Place in Greece

Meteora is a unique and spectacular landscape in central Greece. It is one of the most beautiful places in Greece. The area of Meteora on the Greek mainland is a collection of six monasteries that were constructed on limestone rocks many centuries ago. It is one of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Greece.




These monasteries are perched on high cliffs and accessible by staircases cut into the rock formations. Each of the six mystical monasteries look beautiful both from up close and from afar. They are still inhabited to this day. Of these, four are inhabited by men, and two by women.




The existence of the monasteries on the top of the natural sandstone rock towers makes Meteora a special place in Greece. It has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. The Lost Gardens of Heligan

The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall is a collection of amazingly beautiful botanical gardens. These are one of the most popular botanical gardens in the UK. The style of the gardens is typical of the nineteenth century Gardenesque style. The areas of the Lost Gardens of Heligan feature different character with different design styles.




The Lost Gardens of Heligan offer over 200 acres for exploration. This include Victorian Productive Gardens and Pleasure Grounds, a sub-tropical Jungle, walks through ancient woodland and beautiful Cornish countryside. The Wildlife Project in the gardens allows visitors an intimate view of native wildlife.




The gardens were created by members of the Cornish Tremayne family. These unique gardens form a part of the family's Heligan Estate. The creation of the gardens started from the mid-18th century and continued up to the beginning of the 20th century. However, they were neglected after the First World War. The Lost Gardens of Heligan were again restored in the 1990′s.

The Sahara covers an area of over 9,000,000 square kilometers. It covers most of North Africa, making it the largest desert on the African continent. The Sahara Desert makes up almost 10% of the African continent covering parts of several African countries like Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan and Tunisia.



Most of its landscape includes sand dunes, sand seas called ergs, barren stone plateaus, gravel plains, dry valleys and salt flats. Considering the Sahara has a reputation of being one of the driest and most arid destinations on earth, it is surprising for most to hear that a snowfall was actually recorded in 1979.
