Lake Baikal is the world's deepest lake. It is more than 5,000 feet deep at its most profound. The average depth of the lake is 2,442 feet. It is also the oldest lake in the world. Geologists estimate that Lake Baikal formed about 25 million years ago.

Meteora - A Unique Place in Greece

The Lost Gardens of Heligan offer over 200 acres for exploration. The gardens were created by members of the Cornish Tremayne family. These unique gardens form a part of the family's Heligan Estate. The creation of the gardens started from the mid-18th century and continued up to the beginning of the 20th century. However, they were neglected after the First World War. The Lost Gardens of Heligan were again restored in the 1990′s.

Considering the Sahara has a reputation of being one of the driest and most arid destinations on earth, it is surprising for most to hear that a snowfall was actually recorded in 1979.
